Our Workplace

To our staff, patrons, suppliers, friends, family and everyone else we care about,

You may have seen a media article published about us, which paints a distressing picture of Swillhouse and our workplace culture.

First and foremost, we wish to make it abundantly clear that harassment and discrimination of any kind is not tolerated at Swillhouse.

Swillhouse is heartbroken that there have been instances where some of our current and former employees have felt unsupported, unheard or at risk. To those people, we want to express our sincere regret and apologise.

The topics addressed in recent media cover a wide range of issues over a period spanning years, dating back to 2008. Over this 16-year period, we are under no illusions; Swillhouse was not always a perfect workplace. But that is not the business we are today and certainly not the business we strive to be.

Swillhouse has worked very hard in recent years to promote a diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace – an environment where bullying, harassment and discrimination will not be tolerated. Since our earlier days, our policies and procedures have evolved, our HR team has expanded, and a greater support network looks vastly different.

We are dedicated to maintaining a supportive and safe environment for everyone and, while there is always room for improvement, we believe our employee onboarding, training and support services are now in line with the best practice in the hospitality sector.

We are fully committed to rebuilding any lost trust with each of you.
